About

Steve Web

Welcome to my website. I am a social studies teacher at an international school here in the Republic of Korea. For the past seven years, I have taught all kinds of grades and subjects; some of which include AP Comparative Government and Politics, AP US Government and Politics, International Relations, World Issues, Research Methods and College Essay preparation. In addition, I have also helped organized MUNs (THIMUN) and assist students with their applications to British Universities (UCAS).

Originally I am from Toronto, Canada – although I only expected to be in Korea for a year, seven years has passed. The best three have been teaching social science to high school students (currently doing now). The best part of this job is to see students grow and develop new skills. Political science is a tricky subject to teach because it does not have constants or laws like the natural sciences do. So over time I have attempted to explain concepts in the simplest and most concise manner possible, and try to make it entertaining at the same time. Overall, teaching is something I love to do. As my high school politics teacher used to say: ” if you find a job you love, you never have to work a day in your life.” Although of course I do actual work, the joy of teaching is worth every minute of it.

This website is a work in progress so it will improve over time, hopefully with the intelligent advice from my own students.
